Look at the Pictures above: These are the 4 Terrestrial Planets (The Inner Planets). Can you determine the name of each planet?
The Terrestrial Planets (also the 4 inner planets) are the 4 planets closest to the sun. These planets are similar in size to the Earth and have solid, rocky surfaces. Terrestrial planets also have canyons, craters, mountains and volcanoes. Although they have all have atmospheres, the air may not be made of oxygen and nitrogen (like Earth's atmosphere- which makes it possible for humans to breathe). There are many other differences as well- such as daytime temperature, day and year length, exact planet size, presence of water, and others. Can you think of any other differences between these planets?
